Let your kids dive into the world of computer technology this summer at Camp Katy Computer Camp. We are celebrating our 4th year of camp in Katy, TX. Whether it's your first time at our camp or you are coming back for more, there is always something new at Camp Katy Computer Camp.
The favorites are back and we have added 7 new exciting courses: Anime Shorts, Uploads, Downloads, & Customizing the Web, Gadgets & Gizmos, 3D Game Design Junior, World of Warcraft Insider, & Call of Duty 4 Tournament Week.
Camp Katy Computer camp is less than 50% of the cost of other local computer camps and extremely economical compared to other Katy academic camps. We also offer a non-academic camp for $165 per week.
Courses:
Web Design & Graphics
Students will build their own personal website. Design layout, registering their own domain name, displaying their ideas with web creation software, and uploading it to the Internet. They will also learn how to download graphics/pictures from the Internet, camera, & scanner and much more (Ages: 9-17)
Comic Book Creation
KABOOM! Insert an explosion or crash at the thrilling climax of a traditional comic made with your scanned artwork, or use fight sound effects in comics made from screenshots of your favorite PC video game. Included in the class: 1GB Flash Drive, Comic creation software, & One full color print or their finished comic. (Ages: 8+)
Anime Shorts
Create your own animated short movie, commercial, or story. Aspiring artists can use their skills on the computer to make their own anime movie. (Ages: 12-17)
Uploads, Downloads, & Customizing the Web
Calling ALL teenagers! If you love surfing, posting and blogging OR want to learn how it's done - this is the class for you. (Ages 12-17)
Gadgets & Gizmos
Are you a gadget junkie but don't know how to use them like you want to? Learn how to make them obey! Students will dive into the world of commanding iPods, digital cameras, cell phones, and video cameras. (Ages 12-17)
3D Game Design
How many kids would like to learn how to make their own game? Campers will be creating their own FPS (first person shooter) game. We brainstorm, layout the levels, then start designing. Students even produce a custom game disk. (Ages 10-17)
3D Game Design Junior
This class is designed for our younger computer game designers. We will create 3D non-violent video games on a simpler platform. Campers will go through the complete design process of brainstorming, layout, design, and creating their custom game disk. (Ages 7+)
Make your Own Movie
Want to know how the professionals do it? Campers will dive into the life of a film maker. We will take you through the exciting journey of scriptwriting, storyboarding, casting, sets, shooting the movie, editing your movie and even producing your own custom DVD, cover and movie trailer. (Ages: 12-17)
World of Warcraft (WOW) Insider
Whether you already play WOW or just starting out this class will take you from noob to guru. Learn how to get the most from your account and how to spend more time having fun and less time farming items and gold. (Ages: 9-17) Only 15 spots available.
Call of Duty 4 Tournament Week
Get your frag on! First day of camp will expose you to the tips and tricks of a professional FPS gamer. Then it’s game on! Tuesday-Thursday will consist of non-stop ladder tournament play. (Ages 9-17) Only 15 spots available.
Games, Games, Games
The name says it all. Campers will have access to many age appropriate games to play till their hands go numb. The awesome thing about games at camp is you can play against your friends. A multiple computer station will be setup so kids can play head to head. This class is offered every week of summer camp subject to availability - only 12 spots per week).
