These trips are suitable for students with little or no previous outdoor experience, as well as those seasoned in the ways of outdoor trips.  Each student is offered the opportunity to choose different levels of challenge for each activity.  A positive attitude and open mind are the two key ingredients to a great adventure.  Students should be in good physical shape and ready to take on new challenges.

White Mountain Kayak Camp, July 12–July 18: Is an exciting introduction to the world of white-water paddling. The camp is excellent for students who have never kayaked as well as for novice and intermediate boaters who want to enhance their river-running and playboating skills. Instruction focuses on the fundamentals of kayaking and the art of reading and running rivers safely, following the industry-standard American Canoe Association (ACA) Whitewater Kayak Course curriculum. The ACA Whitewater Kayak Course is a program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skills acquisition.

White Mountain Climbing Camp July 12–July 18: Offers a safe and wonderful climbing experience for participants from beginners to advanced climbers. Taught by White Mountain School climbing faculty members trained by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), this camp delivers some of the finest climbing instruction in New Hampshire and allows students to engage in a skills progression tailored specifically to their goals. The White Mountain School is the only high school in the country to have an AMGA-accredited rock-climbing program, and the trained climbing faculty members adhere to a minimum 4:1 student-instructor ratio to ensure the correct level of challenge, guidance, and safety for all participants. The experienced staff members teach the basics as well as share adventures on larger cliffs, such as Cannon, Cathedral, Whitehorse, or Rumney. A typical week might include top-roping climbs of various difficulties at Echo Crag, learning the basics of gear placement and anchor building, and climbing legendary routes like the Whitney Gilman on Cannon Cliff or Thin Air on Cathedral.
